SKEMA Graduation Ceremony: 8,000 participants at La Seine Musicale

On 2 July, SKEMA Business School welcomed nearly 8,000 participants and graduates from its French and international campuses to the Graduation Ceremony, set in the spectacular surroundings of La Seine Musicale, in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris. Streamed live, the event was also followed by 1,500 people remotely.

During his speech to an attentive audience, Jean-Philippe Courtois, chairman of the board of SKEMA, executive vice president and president of National Transformation Partnerships, Microsoft, emphasised the importance of maintaining a continuous link with his fellow graduates. "As a proud alumnus of SKEMA Business School myself, I can't tell you how much our 1983 class community has not only remained united by its friendship but has been deeply involved in SKEMA's inception and its global development over the past many years," he said. Continuing his address to the graduates, the co-founder and president of Live for Good added: "I wish for you to have a positive impact in the world."

100 nationalities represented

Alice Guilhon, the dean and executive president of SKEMA, took the opportunity to congratulate all the graduates. "You have been high-quality graduating classes, with a great deal of diversity, very different career choices, and immense respect for the values of our school," she said, adding: "Higher education institutions have a role to play in transitions, beyond education and research that need to be co-constructed. It's a stronger societal commitment that we need to develop." During the SKEMA Graduation Ceremony, 8,000 participants and graduates from 70 programmes and 100 nationalities graduated, surrounded by their loved ones and professors.
