Sophia Antipolis: SKEMA to host president of International Olympic Academy for an insightful dialogue

On 8 March, SKEMA Business School’s Sophia Antipolis campus will welcome Isidoros Kouvelos, the president of the International Olympic Academy, an educational institution in Greece affiliated with the International Olympic Committee. The academy is tasked with studying, enriching, and promoting Olympism throughout the world.

The event has been organised by Ivan Coste-Manière, director of the MSc in Luxury and Fashion Management at SKEMA and a research officer of the International Olympic Academy. The arrival of representatives from the International Olympic Academy represents a unique opportunity for our students to pose their questions to the scientific community members involved in Olympic life and the leading figures of the Olympic movement. "This interaction with the International Olympic Academy comes in a context of collaboration between SKEMA and prestigious entities such as LVMH, aimed at developing innovative projects around the Paris 2024 Olympic Games," explains Ivan Coste-Manière. Isidoros Kouvelos will be accompanied by Konstantinos Georgiadis, a professor at the University of Peloponnese, in the Department of Sports and Management.

Professor Georgiadis' study subjects include the history of the Olympic Games, the sociology of the Olympic Games, and the political and cultural aspects. Dionyssis Gangas, advisor to president Kouvelos, and Alexandra Karaiskou, in charge of projects and academic relations at the International Olympic Academy, will also be present.
