Suzhou: MSc IMBD students in Sales Challenge with Falux Group

From 23 to 24 May, students of the MSc International Marketing and Business Development (IMBD) programme met with managers of the Falux Group, a Chinese tourism giant, during an intensive two-day session.

As part of the challenge, MSc International Marketing and Business Development students conducted a mock face-to-face interview in 30 minutes with one of two potential clients, represented by managers from the Falux Group. "It is important that the students put into practice what they have learnt in class in a real business scenario, which can give them a better idea of the reality of selling," explains Peter Spier, director of the MSc IMBD on the Sophia Antipolis campus.

Before starting their exercise in front of the Falux group's professionals, the students were able to discuss the group's business model and sales methods with them – a prerequisite appreciated by the students. "Overall, the Sales Challenge was a great experience and also a lot of fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a sales or business development position," says Julia Katharina Unger, an MSc International Marketing and Business Development student. In the end, two students were chosen as winners by the Falux Group based on their presentation.
