Three global AI experts share their experience with students

As part of their Great Transition Challenges course, the L3-year Master in Management (PGE) programme students from SKEMA's three French campuses attended a lecture on "Business Challenges opened by AI", delivered by Prof. Margherita Pagani. Three high-level speakers from the artificial intelligence sector and the business world also shared their experience with the learners.

What are the implications of AI for business and sustainability? What is AI, where is AI today, and how is it revolutionising business? Students in our PGE programme got the answers to these questions at a three-hour lecture on the impact of AI on business by Margherita Pagani, professor of artificial intelligence in marketing.

Global experts

At the end of the theoretical talk, students received insights from Igor Jablokov (CEO of Pryon and creator of the Alexa voice assistant), Melanie Gilbert (partner in charge of the development and deployment of IBM services in the public sector in Canada), and Shahid Hussain (entrepreneur, investor and founder of Green Proposition, a startup that works in collaboration with Alibaba and helps companies in the e-commerce sector to grow in national and international markets).

Real-life cases

"Each of the three speakers offered their vision of artificial intelligence in the future of business. Shahid Hussain, for example, detailed the possible applications of AI in the field of retail, marketing and in terms of sustainability. Melanie Gilbert spoke about the links between artificial intelligence and public services. Igor Jabukov, on the other hand, spoke about the role of AI today and the creation of Alexa. The aim was to share the experience of the experts present and illustrate it with real cases", explains Margherita Pagani, professor of artificial intelligence in marketing and director of SKEMA AI School for Business.

Hybridisation of knowledge within the PGE programme

The hybridisation of programmes is one of the key elements of SKEMA's SKY25 strategic plan. In this respect, providing tomorrow's managers with knowledge related to artificial intelligence is essential, as it will enable them to work in a professional environment compatible with artificial intelligence. "AI School for Business aims to inject lessons in artificial intelligence applied to business through which students can benefit from the insights of renowned experts in the field," says Margherita Pagani.
