USA: MSc Financial Markets students finalists at CFA Institute competition

Juliette Kahn, Vittorio Maneglia, Loïc Pluriel and Charles Youwo, all students in the MSc Financial Markets and Investments programme on the Raleigh campus, made it all the way to the regional finals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge, hosted by CFA Society North Carolina.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each student will be tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. They gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst.

This year, participants had to research a publicly traded company, Kontoor Brands, Inc., and provide a deep analysis on industry, financial, valuation, and markets risk using tools such as Bloomberg and Python. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience in the challenge, mentioning their deep appreciation for everything they learned and the thorough feedback they received from the finance experts.

The CFA Society North Carolina awarded them a certificate for ‘Outstanding Investment Research’.
