XJTU-SKEMA joint MSc: 2 schools, 3 cohorts graduated in 4 years in China
On 1 November, graduates from MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Management), a joint master’s programme launched by China’s ivy-league Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and SKEMA Business School, received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony hosted in Suzhou.
After a two-year intensive learning journey, the third cohort of graduates flung their caps in the air with joy. They were invited on stage one by one to accept the diplomas and awards in the presence of their families, professors and management teams from both schools. Several graduates were awarded for their outstanding performance and long-term commitment.
Inspiring speeches for alumni
In a video address, Alice Guilhon, Dean & Executive President of SKEMA, expressed her pride in the successful partnership between the two schools. She highlighted the programme’s strong foundation in trust and a shared vision for excellence and innovation, and acknowledged the impressive milestones achieved, including high student satisfaction and provincial awards for program quality.
Professor Zhiwei Shan, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, warmly congratulated the graduates, praising their hard work and achievements. He noted the programme's success as a fusion of the strengths of both schools, designed to develop future managers and entrepreneurs. He urged graduates to embrace both universities' traditions, expand their horizons, and contribute positively to society.
Executive Vice President of SKEMA, Patrice Houdayer, warmly congratulated the graduates on their academic and professional success. In his speech, he talked about a wide range of basic principles such as work and life balance, aspiring for excellence, full engagement to careers, staying humble and paying close attention to details.
Professor Gaoliang Tian, Associate Dean of the School of Management at XJTU, encouraged graduates to seize opportunities in today’s digital era. He advised them to plan their careers thoughtfully, aim for diverse achievements, and cultivate dedication and professionalism to make a meaningful societal impact.
"Two distinguished schools, three cohorts graduated, in four years – this is the impressive report card that SKEMA and our partner XJTU, present for the MSc programme," said Wenyu Dou, academic dean of SKEMA China. "As we celebrate this year’s graduates, we are confident they will make meaningful contributions to China’s and even international digital economy and beyond."
Joint Educational Fruit between France and China
On occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, the successful collaboration between the two institutions is more highlighted. This programme embodies Sino-French friendship, fostering educational cooperation and cultivating senior management talent.
The programme focuses on developing an international perspective, innovative spirit, and practical expertise, equipping students to navigate globalization challenges and contributing to the future of world higher education.
Aimed at training future elites and industry leaders in entrepreneurship and innovation, the MSc EI (Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Management) began at the start of the 2020 academic year. At the end of the two years of study, students receive the diploma of SKEMA (MSc), which is recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
