Organisational transformation: a balance of intersecting perspectives and tangible narratives in the latest issue of Glimpse
The latest issue of Glimpse magazine, published by SKEMA Business School, focuses on a central theme: the transformation of organisations. Neither celebrated nor feared, transformation is explored here for what it truly is – a complex, often necessary mechanism that cuts across both structures and corporate cultures.
This edition is built around a mix of academic insights, field experience and alumni testimonies. The blend of formats offers readers both perspective and grounded relevance. Inside, you'll find contributions from SKEMA professors on change management, emerging dynamics, and intuitive approaches, alongside case studies featuring companies such as Nexans, Suez, and Edenred.
Pragmatic insights from leading alumni
The alumni interviewed offer a pragmatic perspective. For Nathalie Lundqvist, Partner at Bain & Company, transformation can only succeed if efforts are well-focused. "Two well-executed initiatives are better than fifty failed ones. What matters most is that what gets started is brought to completion," she explains. She also stresses the importance of internal anchoring: "You need to activate influence networks – those with informal legitimacy."
A similar caution comes from Yves Morieux, Senior Advisor at BCG, who argues that transformation only makes sense if it addresses a real problem: "If you misdefine the problem, the solution is pointless." He warns against overly codified approaches that miss the core issues.
Running throughout the issue is a central message: transformation cannot be decreed. It requires clarity of purpose, collective involvement, and the courage to rethink established ways of working. This edition does not offer simplistic answers. It presents a reasoned, sometimes critical, always concrete overview.
